57 Legal Practitioners Elevated to Senior Advocate of Nigeria Rank
The Legal Practitioners’ Privileges Committee (LPPC) has announced the elevation of 57 legal practitioners to the esteemed rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN). This decision was made during the committee’s 169th plenary session in Abuja, under the leadership of Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun.
Notable Appointments
Among the appointees are two female legal practitioners, Mrs Oyinkan Badejo-Okusanya and Mrs Chinyere Ekene Moneme, highlighting the committee’s recognition of excellence across genders. The list also features prominent names such as Ikechukwu Uwanna, Labaran Magaji, and Oluwole Jimi-Bada, showcasing the diversity and depth of legal talent in Nigeria.
Academic Excellence Recognized
Prof. Chima Ubanyionwu stands out as the sole academic appointee this year, underscoring the importance of legal scholarship in the SAN conferment process. The swearing-in ceremony for the new SANs is scheduled for Monday, 29th September 2025, promising a significant event in Nigeria’s legal calendar.
