Decade-Long Manhunt Ends With Arrest of Bandit Kingpin
The Kaduna State police command has successfully arrested Mati Bagio, a 34-year-old suspected bandit kingpin, marking the end of an eleven-year manhunt. Bagio, a resident of Unguwan Galadima in Shika District of Giwa local government area, was known for leading a criminal gang that instilled fear in communities across Kaduna and Katsina States.
Recovery of Arms and Ammunition
During the operation, police recovered a significant cache of sophisticated firearms, ammunition, a stolen Toyota Prado SUV, and two motorcycles. The arrest was made possible through credible intelligence and the relentless efforts of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit led by CSP Sani Zuntu.

Bagio’s criminal activities spanned several local government areas, including Giwa, Hunkuyi, Faskari, Dandume, and Funtua, where he carried out multiple attacks.
