Operatives of the Akwa Ibom Police Command have successfully dismantled a cultist and robbery syndicate, leading to the recovery of several stolen items.
The syndicate, which had been terrorizing residents of Ikot Ekpene Local Government Area, was neutralized following a well-coordinated operation by the police. The main suspect is currently in custody, with investigations ongoing to uncover more details about the syndicate’s operations.
According to the Command’s spokesperson, Timfon John, the breakthrough came after weeks of surveillance and intelligence gathering. The police acted on credible information to apprehend the suspect, who has been linked to multiple armed robbery cases in the area.
Among the items recovered from the suspect are a new Daylong motorcycle, a 32-inch Itec television, an LG home theater/sound system, an amplifier, and a foam. The suspect has reportedly confessed to the crimes during interrogation.
This operation marks a significant victory for the Akwa Ibom Police Command in its fight against crime and criminality in the state. The police have assured the public of their commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all residents.
