Major Police Operation in Kaduna Leads to Multiple Arrests
Operatives of the Kaduna Police Command have successfully arrested ten suspected armed robbers and four individuals involved in the illegal manufacturing of firearms. The operations, which spanned various locations across the state, also led to the recovery of eight locally made guns, sixteen cartridges, three vehicles, and a motorcycle from the suspects.
Details of the Arrests and Recoveries
Among those apprehended were Sanusi Bala from Zamfara State and Nura Bala from Zaria, Kaduna State, caught in the act of attempting to rob a tricycle rider. Their confession revealed a syndicate targeting commercial tricycle riders, with stolen tricycles being sold to Jamilu Zurmi in Zamfara State. The police also recovered three vehicles from the syndicate, including a Golf III Wagon with registration number ABC-152-AL.
Further operations led to the arrest of five suspects involved in a robbery at Unguwan Sanusi, Kaduna South Local Government Area, where a Toyota Corolla and other valuables were stolen. The vehicle was traced to Garba Yaro in Niger Republic, a known receiver of robbed vehicles.
In a separate crackdown, four suspects engaged in the illegal fabrication of firearms were arrested in Giroji village, Makarfi Local Government Area, with several weapons and ammunition recovered. Additionally, three suspects linked to the kidnapping of a resident’s wife in Kwatakore village were apprehended, with two locally made guns and cartridges seized.
The Kaduna Police Command continues its efforts to apprehend remaining accomplices and uncover the full extent of these criminal networks.
