The Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection at the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Mike Achimugu, has shed light on the agency’s involvement in two recent passenger incidents, emphasizing its role is to intervene only when necessary and within its mandate.
Speaking on Channels Television’s The Morning Brief, Achimugu detailed the cases involving Fuji musician Wasiu Ayinde, known as K1 De Ultimate, and an incident with Ibom Air. He revealed that while the airline in the singer’s case chose not to press charges, leading the NCAA to petition for a ban, Ibom Air took immediate legal action against a passenger who assaulted a staff member.
Achimugu stressed the importance of passenger compliance with cabin crew instructions and highlighted the broader implications for aviation safety and unruly behavior protocols.
