Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Soludo, has declared the Labour Party (LP) and the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as ‘dead’ and ‘non-existent’ in the state following the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA)’s victory in the recent by-elections.

Speaking at a celebration event in Nanka, Soludo emphasized the people’s overwhelming support for APGA, which he described as the state’s movement. He also took a swipe at former Governor Peter Obi, who supported ADC candidates, stating the party does not exist in Anambra.

The by-elections saw APGA candidates winning decisively in both the Anambra South Senatorial District and the Onitsha North Constituency 1 in the State House of Assembly, with Soludo highlighting the results as a clear rejection of the ADC and LP.

With Soludo eyeing re-election in the 2025 governorship poll, these victories could signal a shifting political landscape in Anambra, especially as the state gears up for the 2027 general elections.
