Three Colombian soldiers lost their lives in a tragic accident during a survival training exercise on Tuesday. The incident occurred as they attempted to cross the Magdalena River using rafts they had constructed themselves.

According to army officer Jorge Hernandez, the soldiers were part of an anti-guerrilla exercise in central Colombia. A raft carrying 11 soldiers was caught by a strong current, pulling it under a docked ferry. While eight soldiers managed to escape, three were tragically drowned.
