In a tragic incident on Friday afternoon, nine passengers, including three children, lost their lives in a fatal collision between a Hummer bus and a trailer on the Maiduguri-Damaturu highway. The Federal Road Safety Corp (FRSC) confirmed the casualties, which included two male children, one female child, a woman, and five men, all of whom died on the spot.
Injuries and Cause of the Accident
Seven other passengers sustained injuries and are currently undergoing treatment at a specialist hospital in Maiduguri. According to FRSC Sector Commander Usman Muhammad, the accident was caused by speeding, which led to a loss of control by one of the vehicles involved.
